Gold Stars Everywhere!

(Fiance took over the camera today. Grrrr. Dying to post my pictures!)

So I’ve been eating pretty well the past week or so with my calorie-counting! Four people have already told me I look thinner. I feel thinner, too. Not sure how that’s possible after just a few days and the scale remains about the same, but I’ll take it!

As I mentioned yesterday, I didn’t keep track this weekend. Apparently, however, Mcdonalds cheeseburgers aren’t all that bad calorie-wise. Still not something you should do often, but as an occasional meal it seems perfectly acceptable to have 2! 600 calories. yay!

Here’s a run-down of the past few days of calorie-counting. (Remember my goal is 1,400 a day.)

Be prepared to be jealous.

Friday, April 30: 1,225 calories (gold star for me!)

Corn Pops (2 bowls)

Agua de Jamaica (“hibiscus water”… if you gringos haven’t tried this, you need to!)

Salad

Green spaghetti (the sauce is made with poblano chile)

3 quesadillas with monterrey jack, manchego cheese, tomato, onion, and chipotle sauce, topped with fresh guacamole (Mmmm!)

Monday, May 3: 1,304 calories (another gold star!)

Corn Pops (2 bowls)

Starbucks Mint Tea (grande)

Whole grapefruit

Starbucks ham, cheese and chipotle panini

This big chocolate/caramel bar (“alfajores”) my boss brought back from Argentina

Sandwich with ham, manchego cheese and jalapeño cheese (Boring, but that’s all there was in the fridge. The jalapeño cheese kicked it up a notch, though!)

    Way to go!! Quick question…do you ever have any problems leaving comments on “On Mexican Time’s Blog” ? Lately when I use open id to leave a comment I can’t leave anything…grrrr

    Awesome job!!!! And so you know…you can tell. I mean I haven’t seen ya, haha but other people can tell before you can yourself. I was a size 10/12 last year when I started my divorce and now I am a 4/6. First I lose inches and then after about 3 weeks it’s as if the scale just drops down overnight! Freaky! My friend, a nurse, told me to weigh myself bare first thing in the morning before I eat to get my true weight!!! I went from 142 pounds a year ago to 128 now!! Insane! But so excited!!! So happy to hear about your progress helps me stay motivated to keep mine in gear to and not slack now that I’ve lost it.

      Tiffanie, congrats on your weight loss. I’m about the size you were when you started and I am about to start a diet/work out program to get to where you are now. Thanks for the motivational kick in the pants!

    Way to go! I think once I start working again I’m going to start eating better – it’ll be easier when I’m not sitting in the house all day feeling sorry for myself.

    Rock on! If it makes you feel any better, I fell of the bandwagon today binging on chocolate covered pretzels. I’ve been following the paleo diet for the past few weeks. Not too hard, but my sugar gets in the way occasionally.

    I need to try hibiscus water. And what the heck are corn pops???

    Great job! You even managed to fit in a huge chocolate caramel bar and stay under your calorie limit 🙂 A girl after my own heart!
