Childhood Crushes: Atreyu vs. Rufio

27 Jan

Today at work, I got the theme song to The Neverending Story stuck in my head, which reminded me of an old childhood crush… Atreyu. After some curious googling, I’m afraid I have some bad news for all of the ladies of the eighties. Atreyu is no longer hot.

On a happier note, Rufio (Ru-Fi-OOOOOO) is looking as cute as ever!

That makes me very sad for Atreyu. At least Rufio aged well and is still a hottie.
P.S. I greatly enjoy your blog!

Sadly Atreyu didnt age well, but Rufio did, however sadly ladies Im here to inform you that Rufio is Gay though. So bummer there. lol— why is it always the hot ones. lol

To say Atreyu did not age well is a serious understatement. Sadly, it looks like he did a lot of the damage himself (the tan, the weird blonde hair, the excessive tattoos).

If Aida is to be believed and Rufio is gay – does it really matter how well he aged? 😦

Rufio is not gay. He just played gay in a couple movies. My husband knows him and he’s engaged…to a WOMAN.

Thank you for this post. It inspired me to look up my first crush from back in the 1950’s – Tommy Rettig who starred on the TV show “Lassie.” I found out that later in life he was one of the designers of DBase III and was extremely well-loved by his co-workers. Of course, he was always irresistible.

As for your guys, one out of two isn’t too bad.
